Thank you and Congratulations to all of this year's Youth Preparedness Delegates!  We have a special offer from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center just for you.  Click Here!

Be sure to check back for upcoming information on 2009's Be Ready Camp!

Imagine if you could be a community hero! What if you could go behind the scenes of a pretend disaster and learn how to prepare your family and community for an emergency.

If you will be a sixth-grader this fall, you have the chance to attend Alabama’s Be Ready Camp.

Be Ready Camp is a week-long, no cost adventure at the U.S. Space and
Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

At camp, you will explore different areas of emergency preparedness and response, from creating a family disaster plan to fire safety and search and rescue.

Each Be Ready Camp will end with a mock disaster that brings in local emergency equipment and will allow the participants of the camp to act out the role of the first responders.

If you think you have what it takes to serve as a Youth Preparedness Delegate at Be Ready Camp, apply by sending ONE of the following: a 300-500 word essay, an 11” x 17” poster, or a one minute video explaining the statement below.

“What Does Being Part of a Safe Community Mean to Me?”

In your application be sure to include your name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, and name of parent or legal guardian. Submit all applications by July 11, 2008 to:

Be Ready Camp
One Commerce Street, Suite 620
Montgomery, AL 36104
